INTRODUCTION :
The Social Welfare Organization for Research & Development (SWORD) is an NGO (registered under Societies Registration Act of 1860), conceptualized and led by young, energetic, enthusiastic, educated professionals from fields like Information Technology, Media, Law, Economy and Management etc. All of them have a dream to eradicate problems from society, for better future - for human beings as well as all other living creatures - problems regarding Rural Development, Education Medical, Human-right, global warming, female child foeticide, women empowering and child rehabilitation.

Many organizations have been working on these subjects but any rarest one has touched the most essential thing of all - the public awareness. A problem may be eradicate once, but it will it can raise again if we are not aware out that. So awareness is the most valuable thing which need continuously.

OUR MAJOR OBJECTIVES ARE :

* Education :
As we are now in 21st century and more then 60 years of independence have been passed away, after that a large number of un-educated are there in the pupulation of our country. It is fact that an illiterate person does not becomes aware about his right and as well as duties. And it is tremendously bed for the democracy of the nation and harmful for entire humanity. Government has performed many polices to educate the peoples like 'SARVE SHIKSHA ABHIYAN' & 'MID-DAY MEAL' etc. but it may be due to loose administration, corruption or our mechanism fault - that as spent over these schemes as much not resulted. The SWORD is going to take a step to spread the education to enrich the lives by getting knowledge of someone's rights and duties for a democratic nation and as well as employment oriented education to keep away the un-employment.

* Rural Development :
The father of national Sh. Mahatma Gandhi said -"India lives in villages", but now peoples are migrating to cites from villages on a large scale. Why...........? What is the reason............? And cities, especially metro-cities are crying due to over population. Migrants also faces too many problems there but why they struggles to settle in city. We think it is due to lake of medical facilities, improper education, bad transport system- broken roads and unemployment etc. SWORD thinks if we really want a healthy nation, growing GDP and better human lives, we have to stop migration by providing all above in rural areas properly. Nobody wants to leave his native place - but...........! Close to 70% of Indians still resides in rural and semi-urban areas. It is in rural India that a vast potential of talent and untapped creative and intellectual energy lies. If this group of people is not empowered the national as a whole cannot flourish and develop. With the focus of developing this human force, we started to think of ways to empower the rural India. Since women stand at the fore front of most activities of rural lives, the most impactful intervention was to initiate active participation of women in the decision making policies.

*Enrich Environment :
Global Warming is one of the largest problems today. Goven the fact that all of us are now tech-savvy, one of the prime-factor of this bad experience is e-waste.
In metropolitan cities, approximately 89% population of 8 to 48 years age group have been using computer, if not directly, then while using many services provided to them as a part of daily life. It, not only increases electricity-consumption but evolves heat also, thus directly affecting our environment.

On the other hand, old computers and computer parts, which are un-recyclable, these doomed box of electronics, hazardous waste - the e-waste, require garbage management to be not just an essential step, but a specialized one too - especially for their reuse and reycling. Lack of education on this front is one of the major contributing factaors for environmental pullution. SWORD thinks that the problem of global warming can be solved through proper awareness among peoples either through technologies or through activities. This is the responsibility of every one on the Earth to protect Environment. SWORD has also tie-up with a licensed Recycler of e-waste from South India and request to all the user of computer and other electronic items to donate these to SWORD when they become useless. It is also mandatory under International Environmental Law that everyone has to give the scrap of these type of items only to a licensed recycler. SWORD can also re-use the reusable computers for its computer awareness programmes running in rural areas.

*Women Empowerment :
Now, women status have been empowered but the another face of the society has given this a very bad experience - home violence, poor education standard, dependency on males for financially and some other manners like social security, are some of those factors which have been reducing the point of GDP graph of India. To bring a truly global revolution to our society, it is essential to eradicate these problems from our society.

Our government has been providing money as well as resources from time to time but with zero results - very often the paper work and red tape has proved to be a bign hassle to implement all these efforts sincerely.

The SWORD wants that - through public awareness and rght resources we can motivate the peopel to think better - not only for higher living standards, but for respective status of women too.

* Child Care :
Children are the future of nation. This ia right way to motivate, but who is ready to follow responsibilities to implement it in a truthful maner? Government has sent huge money and resources to save the childhood, but after that a large number of children are looking for their fundamental rights i.e. shelter, food and education. We can provide all these to them. Can we really do it, or can't we............? Is this a big task to do and cannot be implemented ?

Sure, it can be and has to be implemented, and yes, we can do it.

Lake of right education, or even education, unawareness about health, environmental, political, governmental policies, rules, regulations are few amonst the factors of our society crippling this dream.

One way to achieve this dream is to launch a proper awareness programme - through cultural activities, rehabilitation of street children, education & health etc. and by settle child-care homes etc.
